Hello
I’m Richard Mc Carthy, a professional Sligo wedding photographer based in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo with over 15 years experience in the wedding industry serving couples across the north west of Ireland including Mayo, Roscommon, Letirim, Galway, and Donegal.
Born and raised in Kerry, I’ve also had the opportunity to photograph weddings in Kerry, Cork, Clare and Limerick.
I started my photography business in 2005 and since then it has grown into a full time profession with over 1,000 beautiful couples photographed across Ireland.
My style is a modern twist on the classic and timeless styles of the master photographers that came before me.
Richard was our photographer for our wedding in Sligo in April and I honestly cannot recommend him enough. We booked pre-covid and ended up rearranging twice, third time definitely lucky! He was so helpful through all the postponements, we luckily got our engagement photos in before all the lockdowns so had the chance to meet him before all the stress. We arranged everything from England and he was just fabulous the whole way through, so patient with all my questions and so helpful with suggestions on the lead up to the day. Photos are absolutely incredible and he worked to get the most amazing shots without being obtrusive at all, and the same day edit slideshow after dessert was unreal, definitely recommend having that as an add on. Richard was just absolutely lovely as well, all of our guests said the same – and by the end of the day it felt like he was one of our friends. Honestly can’t speak highly enough of Richard, really and truly could not have wished for a better photographer. Thank you so so much x

From choosing Richard to be our photographer to the actual day to getting the photos has been a smooth experience. Richard has been extremely helpful coordinating any updates by email or zoom meetings. Adapting changes of our requests when needed. Richard captured every moment perfectly.
Many times on the day I didn’t even notice Richard snapping away which was nice as meant there was lots of natural shots and I didn’t feel pressure with camera there. The on the day slide show was incredible and had such lovely feedback from geust about it. The photo frames for grandparents and parents on the day was a fab extra touch and totally worth it.
Overall can’t thank Richard enough for everything. Our photos are amazing, he is very talented and was so friendly and chilled to have our us and to have caputre our special day.
